Message #01635
new website ius.io and bugs to github.com
Greetings,
We have a few important changes to announce. First, our website has a
fresh new URL[0], look and updated content. We will keep the old site[1]
up for a bit, but eventually it will be retired.
Also starting today, we are moving bug/ticket/issue tracking from
Launchpad[2] to GitHub[3][4]. Instead of having only a single group for
everything, now issues are divided up into the different repositories.
This will make it much easier to customize notifications. We have also
created a wishlist[5] and infrastructure[6] repositories to handle
issues not related to a given package. It is recommend that you 'watch'
any repositories you want notifications about issues or release
information. Please note, all stale Launchad bugs will get closed and
we will continue to work active bugs till they reach their natural
conclusion.
We will be using GitHub's release feature to log when packages get
placed into our testing and stable package repositories. We will not
longer be creating a new issue for each release. See redis30u
releases[7] for an example of this process.
Finally, we are also slightly tweaking our 'policy' about our testing
repositories. Here is our old 'policy':
For updates, we allow two weeks for feedback before pushing package into
the stable repository. Updates that contain fixes for CVEs will get
pushed into the stable repository sooner.
We are expanding this policy slightly to:
If no issues are reported after about two weeks, the updated
packages will be promoted to the stable repositories. Please note, we
reserve the right to promote package sooner if warranted.
The spirit of this policy is the same. We want to allow plenty of time
for testing unless there an important reason (beyond just a CVE) to push
the updated sooner.
Thanks,
Ben and the rest of the IUS covedev team
