Description: eAccelerator is a further development of the MMCache PHP Accelerator & Encoder.
           : It increases performance of PHP scripts by caching them in compiled state, so
           : that the overhead of compiling is almost completely eliminated.
(taken from the current RHEL5 version)

REASON: we have a large website running a web content management system
based on php, upgrading to php52 fixed some issues for us, but the
performance got a lot worse due to eaccelerator not being provided with
php52 (or php53 for that matter). The median HTTP round-trip time almost
trippled. eaccelerator is a cheap and very effective way of improving
php performance.
