Thanks for the feedback.  Just to clarify, the '--without-mysql' is
misleading in that... the core php binary is built without most modules
such as mysql, and then a second compile process builds all the
subpackages and DSO modules (mysql.so, etc).

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
