If needed, you can downgrade packages in IUS.

rpm -qa | grep php53u
yum --enablerepo=ius-archive --showduplicates list php53u-fpm
yum --enablerepo=ius-archive downgrade php53u php53u-common php53u-cli php53u-fpm

Make sure to include any other php53u packages with a matching version,
such as -devel, -pdo, -mysql, etc.  There are 32 packages build from the
same srpm.

Can you confirm which version of php53u-fpm you are currently using?

  error 500 after update php53u-5.3.28-2

Status in IUS Community Project:
  New

Bug description:
  Many complain from Kloxo-MR users after update their php53u to
  5.3.28-2.

  All website will be appear 'error 500' (error '503' in hiawatha
  webserver).

  Look like something wrong with php-fpm. No error report in log file.
