working WiFi on i386?

Has anyone succeeded in getting WiFi to work with ivi-remix on an i386
system? I've tried 3.0.0-12-generic, 2.6.38-8-generic and
2.6.38.2-8.12-adaptation-pinetrail. The first two have the bug I
mentioned before (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209673) and the
last won't boot, apparently due to a problem with the hid_egalax
display driver (I see a message about "udev-fallback-graphics" before
udev chokes on "failed to create queue" and dies). I've
successfully used the adaptation-pinetrail kernel image with other
distros, so I'm surprised it won't come up.

lsmod showed that ath3k was loading as well as ath9k, so I blacklisted
ath3k and rebooted, but that had no effect.

I suppose that the problem might be wpa_supplicant or connman rather
than the kernel driver, although notably the KDE bug I cite occurred
with NetworkManager. Presumably that fact points the finger at
wpa_supplicant. If someone has the ivi-remix WiFi working on i386,
please report your version of wpa_supplicant as well as connman (or
NetworkManager) and kernel.

Thanks,
Alison

By the way, I plan to show a demo on the (networkless) ExoPC running
IVI Remix at the Embedded Linux Conference demo room next week, so if
you're at the meeting, please come say hi, and fix the WiFi while
you're there.
