Hmm, I installed oneiric on a second partition of the same tablet and
the wireless (ath9k) came right up with no effort. I installed
jockey-gtk, but it doesn't work even on oneiric, as it shows no
drivers. I see that "no drivers" is a commonly reported problem
with jocket-gtk.
I installed NetworkManager as well. On ivi-remix, networkManager
and wpa_gui both show that the wireless comes up, associates for a few
seconds, and then drops again. I have the some problem with both
open and WPA-PSK SSIDs, so I doubt the problem is the cert one
reported in KDE. dmesg and syslog both show the same messages as
wpa_gui ("Disassociated . . . reason 3").
Right now my choices for demo are: show oneiric with network up and
cool openstreetmap integration; show demo on ivi-remix with no network
and no OSM. It seems to me that the demo actually runs faster on
ivi-remix, but maybe that's just because it's not downloading the
maps!
Thanks anyway,
Alison
