[Bug 1177963] Re: Backlight switches of on Ubuntu 13.04 boot-screen - Dell XPS12

LJ, could you please boot into a Ubuntu repository kernel and execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1177963
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

** Description changed:

- Hello
-
- I have a Dell XPS12 and the problem that the backlight gets turned off on the Ubuntu 13.04 boot-screen.
- The system starts up normally, at the grub menu the brightness is normal and as soon as the Ubuntu boot-screen appears the brightness is set to minimal level (what unfortunately means completely turned off).
- The hot-keys work, so that I can immediately adjust the brightness and log in to the system - but it is very annoying.
- I tested 3.8.18, 3.8.19, 3.8.20 as well as mainline 3.9.0 and 3.9.1 kernel but the bug persists. Or could it be a bug in the grub config?
-
- Please let me know what log or config files may be helpful.
-
- Thanks in advance
