[Bug 1156216] Re: 14e4:4727 activation of wifi freezes system (Broadcom 4313)

Timmie, as per http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?
an update is available for your BIOS (40cn33ww). If you update to this,
does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

** Summary changed:

- activation of wifi freezes system (Broadcom 4313)
+ 14e4:4727 activation of wifi freezes system (Broadcom 4313)

** Description changed:

- Hello,
- upon activation of the wifi networks, my computer fully freezes.
- This has been since about 2 months.
-
- The card is a Broadcom 4313 [14e4:4727]
-
- I have tried many time the different drivers:
+ upon activation of the wifi networks, my computer fully freezes. This has been since about 2 months. I have tried many time the different drivers:
  * brcmsmac
  * wl / Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA (via sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source)
-
- All no methods leads to success!
- What is the problem?
- How do I debug?
- How do I get the right driver?

  I did go through the guide at the wiki but got lost in the drivers part:
  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessTroubleShootingGuide/Drivers

  I asked a question without sucess for solution:

Title:
  14e4:4727 [Lenovo G570 Notebook 4334] activation of wifi freezes
  system (Broadcom 4313)

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  upon activation of the wifi networks, my computer fully freezes. This has been since about 2 months. I have tried many time the different drivers:
  * brcmsmac
  * wl / Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA (via sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source)

  I did go through the guide at the wiki but got lost in the drivers part:
  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessTroubleShootingGuide/Drivers

  I asked a question without sucess for solution:
  * http://askubuntu.com/questions/267510/how-to-prevent-system-freeze-on-wifi-activation
  * http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/bitte-helfen-system-friert-beim-aktivieren-des/
