[Bug 1155845] Re: Targus Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter using Broadcom BCM20702A0 not supported, sort of, needs firmware. Kernel regression maybe?
Nathaniel Homier, could you please confirm this issue exists with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:
apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Status: Confirmed => Incomplete

Title:
Targus Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter using Broadcom BCM20702A0 not
supported, sort of, needs firmware. Kernel regression maybe?
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
As you can see the Broadcom BCM20702A0 chipset is reconized but the
firmware is missing. I have seen other bug reports that say the
firmware issues is fixed in the 3.2 kernel and I have the 3.5 kernel.
Retail product name is Targus Bluetooth 4.0 Dual -Mode Micro USB
Adapter.
See these bug reports which say the problem is fixed, but not for me.
Is this a regression in the kernel.
