[Bug 939862] Re: [Samsung NP-NC10-KA01AE] Brightness control no longer works properly
Reuben Thomas, that's not how bug reporting works for linux (Ubuntu). If
you don't have the hardware, there is nothing for anyone to look into
regarding this report.
Regarding two other people who marked themselves affected, they would
need to file a new report, as advised in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .

Title:
[Samsung NP-NC10-KA01AE] Brightness control no longer works properly
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
The Fn+Brightness keys on the Samsung NC-10, which need a quirk to
work, did not work with any Oneiric kernel until 3.0.0-15. This
appears to be because (according to the Changelog) a quirk was added
to that version. Previously, I had been using the latest natty kernel,
which continued to work.
Unfortunately, though I can see nothing relevant in the Changelog,
3.0.0-16 breaks this functionality again: the brightness controls
allow only the minimum, minimum + 1, and maximum brightness levels to
be set, but nothing intermediate.
