[Bug 939862] Re: [Samsung NP-NC10-KA01AE] Brightness control no longer works properly

I'm sorry, you're really making no sense. There is something to look
into, because two other people have the hardware and have reported
themselves affected. The report should be left open to give them the
opportunity to respond. There is no need for them to open a new bug
report, which merely adds unnecessary duplication to the bug tracker.

Title:
[Samsung NP-NC10-KA01AE] Brightness control no longer works properly

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The Fn+Brightness keys on the Samsung NC-10, which need a quirk to
work, did not work with any Oneiric kernel until 3.0.0-15. This
appears to be because (according to the Changelog) a quirk was added
to that version. Previously, I had been using the latest natty kernel,
  which continued to work.

Unfortunately, though I can see nothing relevant in the Changelog,
3.0.0-16 breaks this functionality again: the brightness controls
allow only the minimum, minimum + 1, and maximum brightness levels to
  be set, but nothing intermediate.
