Title:
0846:6a00 Wireless stops working after variable amount of time
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I've been able to replicate this issue with two different wireless cards: The PCI card is: Rosewill N180PCe (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166063)
And the USB is: Negear WG111 v2
I've attached the output of /var/log/syslog when the error happens.
When the issue happens, I'm disconnected from the AP, the password box
pop-ups for the AP, no matter how many times I re-enter the password
it will not connect, and the only way I can solve this is to restart
the machine.
This happened in both 12.04 and 12.10 (I upgraded hoping to fix this
issue).
You can see ~2m prior there was a successful "rekey", and then the 'No
probe response' and after that I lose all connectivity and the
password prompt appears.
Feb 11 19:34:58 core wpa_supplicant[1360]: wlan1: WPA: Group rekeying completed with 60:33:4b:e6:eb:33 [GTK=CCMP]
Feb 11 19:36:03 core kernel: [31156.738286] ieee80211 phy0: wlan1: No probe response from AP 60:33:4b:e6:eb:33 after 500ms, disconnecting.

WORKAROUND: sudo echo “options mac80211 max_probe_tries=20″ >
/etc/modprobe.d/mac80211.conf
