[Bug 1411909] Re: iwlwifi will not connect with hostapd access point
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.19 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
iwlwifi will not connect with hostapd access point
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Ubuntu 12.04, 14.04, and 14.10 seem to have this issue.
Everything else that I own will..... and I even stuck an atheros card
in my other server running ubuntu, and that connected just fine... but
anything that I have on iwlwifi refuses to connect.
syslog for wpa_supplicant shows:

I can also connect to a linksys router I have acting as an access
point, but when going to this new hostapd access point, these two
setups do not agree. I have also tried with Ubuntu 14.10/3.16 kernel,
and to test a newer kernel version, Fedora 21 with 3.17+. Same thing
happens. Seems to be specific to iwlwifi and Linux.
