[Bug 1411909] [NEW] iwlwifi will not connect with hostapd access point

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04, 14.04, and 14.10 seem to have this issue.

Everything else that I own will..... and I even stuck an atheros card in
my other server running ubuntu, and that connected just fine... but
anything that I have on iwlwifi refuses to connect.

syslog for wpa_supplicant shows:

and that repeats.

I can also connect to a linksys router I have acting as an access point,
but when going to this new hostapd access point, these two setups do not
agree. I have also tried with Ubuntu 14.10/3.16 kernel, and to test a
newer kernel version, Fedora 21 with 3.17+. Same thing happens. Seems
to be specific to iwlwifi and Linux.
