[Bug 1414219] [NEW] IDE-SATA bridge with SPIF223A doesn't work
Public bug reported:
I have an IDE-CD-RW (HL-DT-ST GCE-8526B) connected to a SATA-only
motherboard using a DeLock IDE SATA 61719 adapter. This adapter uses the
Sunplus IT, SATALink, SPIF223A-HL022 chipset. This works semi-well on
Windows.
My machine has an AMD A10-5700 APU and the boot disk is an SSD, so one
would decent performance.
Under Ubuntu (Mint), the machine is really very slow. I pinned it down
to this adapter, once removed, the machine works well.
In the attached report (I hope it's attached, I used "ubuntu-bug linux"
and took a look at the report) you can see the problem looking for
"ata7".
