Title:
Upgrading linux-image-generic forces removal of grub-efi-amd64

Status in apt package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Upgrading "linux-image-generic" forces removal of "grub-efi-amd64" in
Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn. However, replacement of "grub-efi-amd64"
with "grub-pc" would render the system unbootable, because UEFI boot
  process requires "grub-efi".

Similar bug has apparently existed in earlier Ubuntu versions (e.g.
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/532903 and
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/800910 ), but it
seems to have resurfaced. Some more information can be found at
