My Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 card is very unstable:
- led only goes on  30 seconds after pluggin in the cable
- it takes even longer until I can ping the interface; often it does not become possible at all

dmesg show the link is brought up and down again and again.

There is more often problem with the linux driver:

; same bug applies to Oneiric 11.10 (#839393) and was closed (Won't fix)
because it is no longer supported. It is not fixed, despite the
suggestion that the 3.1/3.2 kernel would improve the situation.

As 14.04.2 is LTS, I hereby report it again.
