[Bug 1440848] Re: doing a dist-upgrade pc failes to boot
I noticed you have Intel graphics. This may be a duplicate of bug
1440724 .
Can you give the test kernel posted in comment #52 of that bug a try?
It can be downloaded from:

Note, with this Vivid kernel, you need to install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra packages.
