An update,

when trying to run the bios update file with dosbox it says

"rom version should be newer than bios version"

seems that it sees it as an older version

Bug description:
  Both in Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.04 touchpad is not recognised on DELL inspiron 15z 5523. The output of xinput is PS/2 generic mouse. The touchpad is not working at all. Except sometimes the cursor moves randomly.
