[Bug 1459149] Re: keyboard and mouse not responding at login

Joris Bierkens, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from
kernel 3.13 to 4.1-rc5 in order to identify the last bad commit,
followed immediately by the first good one. Once this commit has been
identified, then it may be reviewed as a candidate for backporting into
your release. Could you please do this following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection#How_do_I_reverse_bisect_the_upstream_kernel.3F
?

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit
bisecting.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
keyboard and mouse not responding at login

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
If I boot normally, I can use my keyboard in GRUB to select boot
options. If I then boot into Xubuntu (14.04.2), the keyboard and mouse
are not responding (except in rare cases). I can not Ctrl-Alt-F1 to a
console and can not use Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot.

WORKAROUND: Disconnect mouse and keyboard before turning on my pc,
wait for the lightdm login screen, and then plug in my keyboard and
  mouse.
