Message #125655
[Bug 1471238] [NEW] BCM43142 will stop working when signal is below 55%
Public bug reported:
Lenovo ThinkPad E545
Network controller : Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n (rev 01)
If you are using this WIFI card, beware that *bcmwf-kernel-source* does perform very badly with a newer version
of the *bcmwf-kernel-source* 6.30.223.248-bdcom-0ubuntuXX (XX I have tried them all and all are not working)
Desripction of what is happening:
You are connnected to a network (does not matter on the router config or
router) and when you are at signal level cca 55% and less the internet
drops and you are offline (still connected but no packets get in or out)
for a long period of time (restarting card works for a few moments when
the drop occurs again)
---
*bcmwf-kernel-source* 6.30.223.141 works as it should, but I am stuck in
kernel 3.13 as I want to go kernel 3.19 and I can't because I have to
use newer bcmwf and it is unstable, very much.
---
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca
Release: 17.1
** Affects: bcmwl (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
