You may need to run the following from a terminal:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as "Confirmed"

Bug description:
  Every time I try to install new packages I get an error. I think it
  was due to some of my kernel modules getting removed.  :P

  I was following some instructions trying to get my sound card working.
  Now the sound card works, but I messed up my install somehow.
