Title:
Ivy Bridge laptop overheats with intel_pstate enabled

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Running 'cpupower frequency-info' shows all my cores running at 2.8GHz
constantly, despite being mostly idle. My laptop was using the
intel_pstate module for CPU frequency governing. I tried switching
between powersave and performance governors but they both showed the
  same issue.

WORKAROUND: Add intel_pstate=disabled to my kernel command line.
