Bug description:
if the PCM volume is set to 0 (but not muted), you can still hear
sound playing. If you have good speakers or headphones you can hear
sound even if Master and PCM are set to 0. Once Master or PCM is
muted, you can't hear anything.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Play a sound file using an audio player
2. Open up alsa-mixer
3. Lower the PCM volume
4. Observe that even when the PCM volume is 0 (but not muted) you can hear sound.
5. Lower the Master volume
6. Observe that even when the Master volume is very low (but not muted) you can hear sound.
7. Mute either Master or PCM
8. Observe that all sound stops playing.
