Tom, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from kernel 3.19 to
4.3-rc5 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed immediately
by the first good one. Once this commit has been identified, then it may
be reviewed as a candidate for backporting into your release. Could you
please do this following

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit
bisecting.

Bug description:
  Every time I close the lid or suspend the system from the menu, the
  screen goes dark, but the machine does not enter suspend. I have to
  hold the power button to kill it and reboot. I did not have this
  problem until a recent kernel package update that was automatically
  installed.
