Re: [Bug 1508267] Re: Mouse randomly fails to click menu bars, launcher, and title bar
With the new kernel image, the system now fails to login. When I get the
password prompt, I enter it, the screen displays random colors for a brief
moment, then I get the login again. The system will not proceed to my
desktop. Syslog reports only the following:
gnome-session [2087] : CRITICAL : We failed, but the fail whale is dead.
Sorry....
Xorg logs contain no useful information.
I find it amusing that even the gnome error messages are dumbed down to the
point of being useless.

Title:
Mouse randomly fails to click menu bars, launcher, and title bar
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Periodically, and unpredictably, Ubuntu will start to ignore mouse clicks. The following fails when this condition occurs:
Clicking title bars.
Clicking close, maximize, or minimize.
Mousing into the menu bar at the top of the screen produces no menu bar, and does not respond to clicks.
The launcher on the left no longer produces information on mouse over, nor does it respond to clicks.
The following continues to work when the condition is active:
Clicking in text input fields within applications.
Keyboard.
WORKAROUD: I can generally clear the condition by flailing around with
alt-enter or by changing to a text console (alt-F1) and back to X.
