[Bug 1552938] Re: Keyboard not working on boot and stop job taking forever

I tested with the 1.2.3 BIOS too, but no change. What did make a
difference was the new 4.4.0-11-generic kernel.

Now the boot seems to work just fine, keyboard is working again and the
input box for the decryption password works again.

There is however(on boot) a purple screen for a couple of seconds before
it turns black and reappears with the input box for the decryption
password, but that might be normal.

The shutdown now seems to work every now and then. Sometimes it shuts
down quickly but other times it hangs for a long time after "[ OK ]
Stopped Thermal Daemon Service", I'm not sure what it's waiting for, so
something seems to be wrong there.

Should I mark this bug as fixed and create a new one as the problem has
changed with the latest kernel?

Title:
Keyboard not working on boot and stop job taking forever

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When using the 4.4.0-9-generic the splash screen that asks for my
encryption password don't register any keypresses. If i force the
laptop to shut down and boot again the screen doesn't even show, it's
just purple. But then I can enter my password and hit enter and it
will unlock and bring me to the Ubuntu login screen.

When shutting down it hangs on "A stop job is running..." (/dev/dm-0 i
think it was) until it times out (90 sec).

If I switch back to the 4.4.0-8-generic kernel it all works just fine,
boot goes to splash screen, I can type in my encryption password, and
it also shuts down without waiting for 90 secs.
