[Bug 1575038] Re: Connecting docking station reboots computer
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.6 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Bug description:
When connecting a awake and running laptop to Dells docking station the desktop crashes and shows the disk encryption password login prompt: https://goo.gl/photos/9QEkQDkNPbT71wDD6
After entering the password all screens goes black and nothing happens.
Trying to undock and then dock again after the above problem the console displays the follwing:
