[Bug 1589109] Re: I have to unplug the cable to turn xubuntu 16.04 off
Kernel 4.7.0-040700rc1-generic was installed and tested, the problems
also appear with this upstream kernel (in this case, blank screen which
stayed like that for a whooping 12 minutes, but this time it shut itself
down. Im going to keep this upstream kernel to see how it shuts down.
A new problem arised: I have 4 GiB RAM installed, but since 3 days (and
with both kernel 4.4.0.22 and kernel 4.7.0.04) sometimes only 2 GiB are
recognized: Yesterday I cleaned the fan, the ram modules and the golden
connections, exchanged the modules to see if one of them is broken (no)
and 4 GiB were recognized the first time I booted with kernel 4.7.0.4.
Second time I booted this kernel, only 2 GiB are recognized...
Do you need me to apport again?

Title:
I have to unplug the cable to turn xubuntu 16.04 off
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
xubuntu 16.04 on a clevo m7xsun: the regular way of turning my
computer down means, always, having to unplug the cable:
I click on turn off and sometimes the screen freezes on the background
and stays like that until I unplug the cable.
Sometimes I get a blank screen and stays like that until I unplug the
cable.
Sometimes I get to see what the computer does (what programs are being
shut down) and freezes on a certain process and stays like that until
I unplug the cable...
I have been doing it like this since 12.04, but now I'm afraid it's
affecting the hdd.
Apport should appear down here...
