Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.7-rc1 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Title:
  USB Mouse randomly adds another press and release click

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Very recently (in the last week? Possibly after the Compiz update?),
  Ubuntu 16.04 AMD64 (the version), will randomly add another quick
  mouse click after I physically click the left Mouse Button. I used
  xinput to verify this is happening, and it is. This happens on two
  different mice I tested, and does not happen with the Track Pad. Any
  suggestions?
