[Bug 1592442] [NEW] Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial hard crashing on ACER E3-11-P0D8

Public bug reported:

About a month ago I installed the latest Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial on my ACER
E3-11-P0D8 laptop. Since then, it randomly freeze up while I work. It
generally takes 10-20 mins to do that.

Out of frustration, I started to change the kernel. It seems that every
>4.0 kernel is freezing up my system. Now i am stable at 3.19.8 from
here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/

Please note: When using old kernel ( 3.19.8 ) i have no crash. But when
i use the latest one, it freeze up and i can not use anything ( no
kernel panic, no terminal, nothing, keyboard mouse doesn't work ).

The freeze happens very randomly. It can take 5 mins or hours after
working. And it takes me to switch off the laptop and start it again.
