Title:
[ASUSTeK Computer Inc. K54C] suspend/resume failure

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
While battery powered, I closed the lid. Upon plugging the laptop in
and opening the computer, it failed to resume. I could hear my CPU
running, but only saw a black screen. The problem was fixed by a cold
  reset.
