  [Lucid] Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT doesn't recognize monitor resolutions

Bug description:
  All modes reported by the monitor are rejected as exceeding hfreq
  range.

  WORKAROUND: First, I enabled KMS again to get back to the original failure (blank screen).
  Then I logged in via ssh and created an xorg.conf:

  sudo bash
  # service gdm stop
  # Xorg -configure
  # mv corg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf

  Now edit the nre xorg.conf file and change the line that says
  Driver "nvidia"
  to be
  Driver "nv"
