[Bug 1168642] Re: Please include ASIX AX88179 driver
Still happens with 13.10 even though ppa referenced above claims the
drivers are in kernel 3.11 and the changes in the ppa are not needed on
saucy salamander (fails to install when I tried too).

Title:
Please include ASIX AX88179 driver
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Asix's AX88179 is an USB3.0 based 10/100/1000M gigabit ethernet
controller. They provide a Linux driver at their web site
(http://www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=pItemdetail&PItemID=131;71;112)
and it works nicely for me. It would be awesome if Ubuntu would
include this driver into its kernel package, so that USB adapters
based on this chip work out of the box.
