It's a weird thing: I have an Apple magic mouse connected via bluetooth to my Dell XPS 13 laptop. When gnome shell starts, the mouse pointer is is not shown on the screen... however if a move the mouse, the pointer it is still not shown but it actually moves... if fact if I keep moving the mouse towards NW (that is where the top left corner of the screen is) the gnome shell overview mode is activated.
In order to make my mouse pointer visible, I have to touch the touchpad. From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be visible.
It's a minor thing but it can be annoying especially if you disable the touchpad.
