Re: [Bug 1227687] Re: [MEDION UIM2080] Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae freeze very often after update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae
Hi Christopher M. Penalver,
this Medion laptop is a little bit strange, because the standard MSN is
not given like on my other Medion products on any lable of backside?!
This was very bad for me to, because i would like to make a bios update
in the past, but there was no new firmware on the Medion homepage... and
the laptop was not possible to find on the Medion Homepage...
The only info on the backside of the laptop is:
"Model No.: UIM2080 Notebook PC"
"Input: 19V= 3.42A(max)"
"For use with AC adapter FSP065-AAC only"
"S/N: SZSL52II573200736"
"MEDION AG"
Best regards
Alexander Kaiser

Title:
[MEDION UIM2080] Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae freeze very often after
update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
* Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae (inkl non pae) freeze very often after update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae on all computers (for exapmle Dell D600, Dell D420, Medion UIM2080, Siemens Towers...)
* When system freeze no fault messages happends; harddisk led is going of; cpu fan is blowing like bevor crashing;
* For simulation see attachment file with skript and infos.
* The freezing happends mostly after "long" time cpu's = 100% and very much harddisk access to the same time.
Only CPU OR harddisk access is not so criticaly for freezing.
* In kernel 3.2.0-52-generic-pae or 3.2.0-52-generic or earlyer i hade no problems with freezing like this.
If you would like more informations or i should test a new version, please let me know and kontakt me...
Best regards...
