Title:
No sound via HDMI with ATI RS690 under Hardy
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Hello,
I'm having issues with sound on my RS690 HDMI connection. From what
I've read this device is supported in newer ALSA versions (see here:
http://ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0610.2/0086.html ).
Everything is unmuted and volume levels are at 100% but I get no sound
over my HDMI connection. The cable and TV input are fine, I just
moved it over from my cable box which works.
I've tried with and without the following lines in ~/.asoundrc:
defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.pcm.device 3
I also compiled and installed the 1.0.16 ALSA driver modules, which
resulted in the addition of a PCM volume control when running
alsamixer -c 1 however turning that volume to 100% hasn't caused the
sound to work.
I'm attaching output from the alsa-info.sh script linked to on the
wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems
