[Bug 994994] Re: Toshiba Satellite "acpi:LNXVIDEO" problem
Daniel Larraz, as per
http://www.toshiba.es/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=ES an
update is available for your BIOS (3.60). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Toshiba Satellite "acpi:LNXVIDEO" problem
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-1NT and when I boot up Ubuntu 12.04 it hangs for 70 seconds and then moves on to
successfully boot system. I can avoid the wait booting up with the "acpi=off" option but that removes lots of functionality from the laptop (battery information, automatic shutdown and more) which is annoying.
I copy & paste the relevant part of "/var/log/syslog":
