Title:
No USB 3.0 support for Prolific PL2773
Status in The Linux Kernel:
Invalid
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
This is in a Vantec CB-ISATAU3, an IDE/SATA USB3.0 adapter. It works
fine in USB 2.0 mode, but it does not work in USB 3.0, and indications
are it is not supported. dmesg | tail gives:
"[ 2956.564327] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2956.768312] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2956.972018] usb 9-2: device not accepting address 19, error -71
[ 2957.084328] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2957.288313] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2957.492021] usb 9-2: device not accepting address 20, error -71
[ 2957.604318] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2957.808313] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2958.012028] usb 9-2: device not accepting address 21, error -71
[ 2958.012040] hub 9-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2"
lsusb doesn't list any new devices on USB 3.0 mode, but in USB 2.0
mode:
"Bus 002 Device 005: ID 067b:2773 Prolific Technology, Inc."
The controller seems to be Prolific Technology PL2773.
