[Bug 1048394] Re: Acer Extensa 4420 will not wake up from suspend

 

Geoffrey Pursell, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an
update is available for your BIOS (1.18). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

  Acer Extensa 4420 will not wake up from suspend

Bug description:
  Laptop is unresponsive upon trying to wake from suspend. Display
  appears to remain completely off; computer will not respond to pings
  on a wireless network.

  This has been a problem since 11.10, in which suspend works fine.
