Title:
Compilation error in patch_analog.c trying to update precise to
3.5.20 kernel
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Running precise with 3.5.0-18 kernel. Attempted to update all packages through
synaptic and saw compilation errors scrolling by while trying to build the new
kernel. Reproduced via:
$ sudo apt-get remove linux-image-3.5.0-20-generic
$ sudo apt-get install linux-generic
The package install process generates compilation errors in patch_analog.c and
it's not clear to me whether it's possible or safe to boot the system in this state,
so removing the kernel and backing off to 3.5.0-18.
Will be attaching a log of 'apt-get install linux-generic' followed by the make.log
output showing compilation errors following the initial bug report.
