[Bug 1266984] [NEW] Kernel 3.13-rc7 [AMD Radeon HD 6800] System Crashes and Reboots

Public bug reported:

Using the latest 3.13-rc7 on two of my AMD machines, both of which have
Radeon HD 6850 graphics cards in them, the system crashes when playing
videos. I think it may be easier to cause the crash when playing a video
that is 720p+. It also is not limited to crashing when playing videos,
but can also crash simply from browsing the web or doing anything that
causes a demand on the GPU. It may or may not be related to DPM
implemented in the latest kernels. Using kernel 3.12 from Trusty repos
with DPM enabled, it works fine. I have a machine with a Radeon HD 7950
but I have not tested it yet. Similarly, I have used an AMD Richland APU
which crashes with kernel 3.13 immediately on the login screen. Put
simply, there needs to be a lot of testing of AMD chips before releasing
kernel 3.13 for Trusty stable.
