[Bug 1274641] [NEW] 64bit linux on gigabyte motherboards - IOMMU issue?

Public bug reported:

I have a gigabyte GA-970A-DSP3 motherboard, and everything works fine with 32bit Kubuntu 13.10
After installing 64bit, the USB2 ports on the motherboard didn't work, however the USB3 ports did work. The ethernet (motherboard) and wireless (PCI card) wouldn't connect. They would recognize that the ethernet was plugged in, and detect any wireless networks, but wouldn't connect to them.

One fix I found for this was to set IOMMU to enabled in the bios, then
the USB2 ports, ethernet and wireless worked fine, but the USB3 ports
stopped working.

I have found others with the same problem with varying models of gigabyte motherboards and distributions of linux.
