Title:
  8086:0085 Ad-Hoc wlan broken

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Ad Hoc wlan (hotspot) is completely broken for linux-
image-3.2.0-27-generic at least on my particular hardware. The bug
report says -24 because ubuntu-bug didn't allow me to edit that and
I'm running -24 as a workaround. No problem there. I tried linux-
image-3.2.0-26-generic to pinpoint the bug's appearance. It worked.

Adapter is 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino
  Advanced-N 6205 (rev 34)

Snippet of syslog representative of the problem, under -27:
