Is the fix a new kernel release? Because under the latest kernel for 14.04 (as I'm writing):
$ uname -a

suspend is still failing for me.

Bug description:
  I sent my computer to suspend mode and my computer locked up (blank
  screen, power and WiFi LEDs on, when suspend mode works it's just the
  power LED flashing once per second), so I had to press Power button
  for 5 seconds to shut my laptop off.

  Problem report shows when restarting up.
