Message #49441
[Bug 1289748] Re: Battery information all zeros (charge level, capacity, design capacity, voltage, all 0)
Here's a DSDT with some debug lines in and the resulting dmesg. You can
see all the values from _SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC.B* are 0, except BST0 == 2 (AC
connected, 1 otherwise - at 72s I unplugged the AC, which eventually
dims the backlight; at 86s I plugged AC back in and increased
backlight).
** Attachment added: "dmesg from instrumented DSDT"

Title:
Battery information all zeros (charge level, capacity, design
capacity, voltage, all 0)
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
The battery level in Xubuntu's panel constantly shows as 0% on this
brand-new laptop, with either of the two batteries supplied with the
machine. The batteries are holding charge, and an LED on the machine
correctly indicates charging/charged (orange/green). On right-click ->
Power Information -> Battery, zeros are shown for "Energy full
design", "Energy full", "Energy empty" and "Voltage". The numerical
entries at /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0 are also all 0.
Information from ubuntu-bug is hopefully attached; I also attach the
output of acpidump.
Adding the boot option acpi_osi=Linux (confirmed as appearing in
/proc/cmdline) has not helped.
