Public bug reported:

When resuming from suspend I get a black screen, not possible to get
back to X without restarting the computer. CTRL-ALT-F1 gets me a
terminal window but I can't be bothered to find out how to restart X
these days, it's easier just to restart the computer.

Probably same as bug #1283938 but it is suggested that we should open
individual bugs in that bug. Will also try a newer kernel.

My laptop is from the bronze age (2006) but it works really well so I
hope to be able to continue using it.
