[Bug 1332318] Re: [HP Compaq 6715b Notebook PC] wrong time after suspending with no internet

mlg7, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=3356624&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D1093%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken#BIOS an update to your BIOS is available (F.0E). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
[HP Compaq 6715b Notebook PC] wrong time after suspending with no
  internet

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I came from work and saw a wrong time on the clock (both the applet on
the panel and `date` show the same). Connecting to internet did not
help, but closing the laptop lid and opening it did help -- the time
  was set to 8 pm.

The wrong time was 12:06 PM , this is likely the time when the cable was disconnected. At least, I left home about 9:20 am. Probably I did not close the lid, and the laptop went into the dark screen mode.
