[Bug 1333041] Re: Ubuntu Upgrade issue
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.16 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Ubuntu Upgrade issue

Incomplete
Bug description:
I am "in progress" of Collecting infomation on an issue that i had in the passed of Upgrading from version to version like from 12.04 to 14.04 with usin USB or Disk
This will also happen if you use the Reinstall feature if your usin the same Version to Boot Ubuntu
Has a serioes of errors on recoverying the Installed files i do have a File system log of progress of upgrade below
Cant recover or fix this problem
but when it was done attempted to restore previous installed
applications it showed this message
An error occurred while restoring previously-installed applications. The installation will continue, but you may have to manually reinstall some applications after the computer reboots

Was successful on installing and running the system but when ya restart your computer
"Compiz" program
seems to be running a awful lot running my CPU useage 100% all the time and plus for the screen restoration is at 640x480 and that is the ONLY option i have in screen system settings---> Displays on normal ammount i can but it 800x600 to 1280x800 (with out upgrading purely installing from scratch)
Ive tested this on Kernel 3.13.0-30 (Default newest kernel for ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Plus ive got 100% all up to date all current software. of date: June 22nd 2014
Still maybe gathering infomation on this bug
