Re: [Bug 1357392] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel, playback] Pulseaudio fails to detect card
Could you help me with something (due to my lack of knowledge)? I have
downloaded and installed this as asked. Now the instructions say
"When this process completes you should have a new entry on your boot menu
representing the upstream kernel. This will appear as an entry like this:
Ubuntu Trusty, kernel 3.14.4-031404-generic "
I have no idea what this means. Specifically, I don't know where I normally
would see my boot menu. Can you further clarify?

[HDA-Intel - HDA Intel, playback] Pulseaudio fails to detect card
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Dell Inspiron

I just updated to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit and after doing so I have no sound.
I ran everything on the troubleshooting page
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting) and a number
of fixes from the Unbuntu forums and no luck. I believe the problem is
a non detection of my sound card. In the sound settings it says
Play sound through: Dummy Output
However, after running troubleshooting page, I found that the sound
card is in fact installed and working as far as the computer is
concerned.
